These notes describe the website feedback preview and Windows version 0.1.2. They are an operational summary, not approved legal terms.
A qualified reviewer must approve and adapt this draft before a public release. The host, jurisdiction, retention policy and contact details are not configured.
PDF processing in the Windows app
Version 0.1.2 opens, detects, reviews and exports PDFs in the Windows application. The application source contains no document-upload endpoint or remote OCR service, and no AI integration is included. The website preview has no PDF upload feature or PDF-processing backend.
A prior network capture observed traffic from the computer but could not attribute it to PII Redactor or Tesseract. It included dropped and truncated packets. Therefore this preview does not claim that the installed application has been proven to produce zero network traffic or that no content could ever leave the device.
Local learning preferences
The app can save a general field label only after the user explicitly asks to teach it and confirms saving. The app asks for a label in English, rejects unapproved labels, and stores the label and approval/rejection counts locally in the user's home folder at .local_pii_redactor/patterns.json. It does not store the detected field value as a learning rule.
Website data
The website code does not set cookies or include analytics; it has no accounts, contact form or document upload. It stores the selected language in browser localStorage. When hosted on Cloudflare Pages, Cloudflare may process visitor IP addresses and other request or traffic metadata under its service terms. This package contains no Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon; if analytics or other optional features are enabled in the Cloudflare account, update this notice.
Updates and external services
The Windows 0.1.2 application includes a Check for Updates menu item, but it is inactive and makes no network request because no trusted HTTPS release source and independent verification are configured. The website links to the Windows installer on GitHub Releases. GitHub handles the download; this website does not process PDFs or receive documents. The website has no PDF processing backend or telemetry code.
Your choices
Review the output PDF before sharing it. You can remove the local learning file from your Windows user profile if you no longer want those saved field labels and counts. Do not upload an unreviewed or sensitive original to any AI service.
